At one day, Lucifer decided to show God a few of his tricks, hoping God would be amazed, praise and acknowledge him for his feats. He started off with convincing a man to steal a loaf of bread from a poor widow's kitchen.
God laughed, saying, it was He who placed the bread there to be stolen in the first place. True enough, that poor widow thanked God for feeding a hungry thief, and took another fresh loaf from her oven to be served for her family.
Lucifer was embarrassed. Not giving up, he went on to convince a young woman to seduce a wealthy man into abandoning his wife and family.
God laughed, a bit heavy this time. Puzzled, Lucifer asked,
"What's so funny? Are you really enjoying your faithful being hurt and family broken to pieces?"
He answered, "I know you'd do that, so I gave that impatient man immense wealth in advance, so he may learn that, true value of his wife and family, is much valuable than any wealth this world can offer."
True indeed, not long after, the rich man returned to his family, begging them to forgive him and accept him. The rich man donated almost all of his wealth for the poor and needy not long after his family accepted him.
Furious of how his mischievousness ended up favoring God, Satan thought to himself that the only way play a real trick to God is to show Him the power of betrayal.
He went to one of God's most loved faithful people, living peacefully in a tropical country. A country that was blessed with almost all types of natural sources and natural beauties. Adding to that, its a country with many races and religions residing together in harmony and peace for many years now.
Upon arriving, Lucifer smelled something very familiar to him in this land. A foul smell meant only for those evil hearts that Lucifer usually meet once in a while when doors of Hell opens for those most fouled sinners.
Not to his surprise, he came to know that the most evil and corrupt among humans, with hearts so filthy, guaranteed a one way ticket to Hell, are ones that became leaders of these God-fearing people.
Lucifer was stunned, and he stopped from advancing further into that land. In his thought, God is surely playing some sort of trick on him because there is no way God would permit His people to be led by most foul of humans.
Getting sick of things backfiring and wanting an answer, Lucifer turn back to meet God, and asked Him,
"Are You trying to trick me? You told me You love that country so much but what I found was, it's been run by some most rotten humans I've ever seen!"
"You want me to believe that You've created a hell down there and then trying to trick me by calling it paradise?"
"Hah! There's no way You would leave Your people's fate in hands of those dirty creatures!"
"What a lie, and I saw that right through You!" Lucifer said, laughing heavily.
God stood, stared at Lucifer for a moment, and sat back on His throne. He mumbled something to Himself, and started laughing softly. He is trying to stop but couldn't, yet He began to laugh louder.
His laugh began to grow louder and louder, until it became so loud that all the angels came flying from all corners of the universe to hear, what could Lucifer possibly have said that amused God that much.
"What's so funny?" shouted Lucifer, clearly feeling angry for being a subject of mockery.
Finally, God stopped laughing but still keeping His grin wide. In front of all angels, saints and Heaven dwellers, God said,
"Today, I'm truly delighted because my dear friend, Lucifer has showed to me that even the Most Foul as him, actually do have a little faith in Me."
"That's a blatant LIE!! When did I say that? Prove it!" demanded Lucifer.
"You told me that, there's no way I would leave My people's fate in hands of those evil leaders.
Doesn't that means that, you do trust that I, will only do good to My people, and I will never forsaken My people into the hands of Darkness.
That, My friend, is what faith truly is, to believe that I, will never forsake My people!" God explained.
The entire hall went quiet, astounded of what they've just hear. Just some whispers here and then, all eyes fixed in front of God's throne, at Him and Lucifer.
"You tricked me and embarrassed me in front of all the heavens, God. I shall never forget this day. Your people will pay for it!" said Satan, softly, and vanished.
God grinned, again.
Raphael, who's been watching their conversation for a while now, came down and asked God,"Dear Father, he doesn't seem to be happy of Your truth. Should I go and watch over him?"
To this, God replied to Raphael,
"Remember My child, repentance requires sacrifice and Lucifer has had his price, which is hard for him to accept.
Its every soul's given right for repentance. For some, the journey is easy, others, like Lucifer, will have to go through tremendous pain and suffering before attaining peace.
Watch over him, Raphael and assist his repentance just as how you would do for sons of Adam."
